These 7 Tips SketchUp Users Need to Master

Sketchup has been known as a 3D modeling software that is easy to learn. Why do I say easy? Because it's true that many people, including myself, can master this program without a manual to just make simple drawings.

SketchUp's fairly simple interface allows people to observe the existing tools, and can try one by one to find out what their functions are. For example, when we logiciel sketchup want to make a rectangle we look for a tool with a rectangular image... click the screen and you quickly find how to draw something. Then ! You then click on the button with the red arrow on it (push/pull) and be your first 3D model in Sketchup.

A new problem arises when creating a rather complex model. At this stage, we inevitably have to learn a lot from literature and tips that we can easily get on the internet. The problem is whether they want to learn or not. Reading makes us learn some tricks that keep us on the right track. Otherwise it will usually quickly become frustrating when you encounter difficulties when modeling in Sketchup. In fact, if we want to spend a little time reading there are many tips available that can overcome these difficulties.
Frankly, I am one of those people who are lazy to read at first. I remember the problem arose when I modeled the house. I find it difficult when I have to change something instead of fixing the model it makes the model that I make a mess. For a long time, I didn't know about group and component functions. I just draw a lot of things and everything sticks together. It's a mess. If in the middle I need to make changes, the whole model will get messed up.

In this post, I want to provide a list of things that every Sketchup modeler should know and use. If you practice all these tricks, you will prevent any trouble from occurring.

Always Use Groups and Components

Do you want your model to be organized? Have you ever had trouble trying to hide different "sections" of the model, so you could work on other things that might be hidden? Do you want to retain the ability to make changes to parts of your model without messing with the rest?

If you answered yes to any of these, you should use groups and components. Otherwise, you should still use groups and components! This tip is another important one and I recommend it to anyone who uses Sketchup. If you haven't used it in a long time, start using groups and components as soon as possible.

The group will isolate parts of the geometry, as well as protect them from each other. This lets you manipulate and move a collection of geometries without needing to select individual sections. You can also create groups within groups.

To make it easier you can use the Outliner Window (Read: ). This facility allows you to get information about the geometry hierarchy of your model.

To create a group, select multiple entities, right-click, and select "Make Group." As for making components, the method is almost the same, the difference is choosing "Make Component". Components allow you to make identical copies of something. If you make changes to one instance of a component, all other instances change as well.

Use Mouse Keys Untu 3 k N avigasi

Never think about clicking on the orbit or zooming in on the toolbar. You need to use a 3-button mouse to navigate in Sketchup.
The middle scroll wheel on your mouse is actually a button too! If you click and hold, Sketchup will temporarily activate the orbit tool. This will save you a ton of time by not having to go back and forth to activate the orbit tool by clicking on the toolbar.

The best part is that the middle mouse button only temporarily activates the orbit tool. This means you can in the middle draw a rectangle, hold down the middle mouse button to orbit around for a better perspective, then finish the rectangle you've finished orbiting. It works while using ANY device.

How to Quickly Make Multiple Copies at Once

Most people are used to using the copy/paste command, or CTRL+C and CTRL+V for the same effect. Actually, you could do the same thing d i Sketchup, but it was not was the best way to move or copy something.First, select the object you want to copy. (Make sure it's in a group, see #2). Then, with the Move Tool, click once to start moving. Then, press the CTRL key on your keyboard. This tells SketchUp you want to make a copy. Move it a certain distance from the original by typing that distance on the keyboard and pressing enter.
