Is it often being treated but the air conditioner is still not cold? Recognize the Causes and How to Overcome Them!

The hot weather coupled with the scorching sunshine makes anyone want to rest in a cool room. But what if your room's air conditioner (AC) is not cold even though it has been treated many times? Come on, find out the cause as well as how to deal with the following cold air conditioner! Brad Gall Electrical

1. AC remote settings that are not suitable

The cause of the AC not being cold can come from setting your own AC remote . If you set the mode wrong , it could be that the air coming out of your air conditioner isn't cold.

To fix this, you must set the mode in the remote AC mode auto or cool . That way, the cool air blowing will be louder than before. In addition, you can also adjust your fan or AC fan to the maximum level so that the wind gusts become tighter.

2. The cooling capacity of the AC does not match the area of the room

It turns out that the cooling capacity of the AC is different, you know. If you don't adjust the cooling capacity to the area of your room or room, it could be that it causes the AC not to cool even though it has been washed or cared for frequently. If you have a 3 × 3 m2 room, it is highly recommended to use an AC with half PK power . Meanwhile, if the room size is around 6 × 6 m2, it is recommended that you use an AC with 2 PK power .

3. Unstable power supply voltage

The third reason why AC is not cold even though it is often washed is an unstable electric voltage. AC itself has a greater voltage than other electronic equipment. So that an unstable voltage can affect AC performance.

But you don't have to worry, just wait for the normal power voltage to return, then the AC will automatically cool down again .

4. AC freon pressure is less

As a substance that contains a very low boiling point, Freon is useful as a cooling agent such as air conditioners and refrigerators . Therefore, less or even exhausted freon is one of the causes of the AC not being cold.

Actually, Freon only needs to be filled in about 4-5 years only. However, if your air conditioner has to be filled with freon frequently, there may be other causes such as a bent / broken freon pipe causing the freon to leak. If the age of your air conditioner is still quite new, but the freon often runs out, you need to check for leaks in the freon pipe.

If it turns out that there are bubbles in the pipe that have been smeared with soapy water, this means that your freon pipe is leaking. Another way is to see if there is oil leaking from the pipe or  AC unit . If there is, it means that your Freon pipe must be repaired immediately.

5. Room conditions

The condition of the room can also be one of the reasons the air conditioner is not cold. If the room where the air conditioner is installed is often exposed to direct sunlight or is made of walls that are a mixture of cement and sand, the room will become warmer, which will affect the performance of the air conditioner.

If it turns out that your room does not support AC to get optimal results, then try to lower the AC temperature or replace your AC with a larger cooling capacity .

6. Placing the AC machine in a narrow space

AC machines are usually placed outside the room. However, if you put the AC machine in a narrow outdoor room , the AC compressor will become hot and damaged easily. This can interfere with the performance of the air conditioner , causing the air conditioner to not cool down.

The solution is to put the AC machine outside in an open space and make sure it has a minimum distance of 60 cm from the wall on each side.

7. The compressor is damaged

A damaged compressor can cause the AC not to cool. As the main component, the compressor functions to regulate the freon circulation from the outdoor AC unit to the indoor and back to the outdoor . Old compressors can experience rust or wear which causes leaks in the compressor itself.

In addition, the compressor ampere that is too high can also cause damage to the compressor. If the amperage is too high, the compressor will overheat easily. This results in the compressor stopping more frequently to cool the temperature.

The solution to dealing with a damaged compressor is to replace the compressor with a new one and in accordance with its capacity. If it turns out that your AC is more than 10 years old, you can immediately replace the outdoor AC unit to make it more economical.
